The 46th Week of 2005

Monday: I've never seen such a scale of a weather storm in Singapore. I was simply amazed at the power of the afternoon's thunder while having my after-lunch smoke. The sound lingered on continuusly for minutes I was pretty sure Shun Li Building was shaking! So bloody loud and scary I had goosebums all over. It reminded me of the time I was in Taiwan during my army days many years ago...LOUD & WET.

Tuesday was the eve of my 7th attempt for my Basic Theroy Test. (YES! SEVEN!) Got a call from Steve bro to chill at his place so what the fuck...studying for the test can wait till tomorrow! And since we have a bottle that we've not touched since buying it few weeks ago and also considering a rare fact that I'm on unpaid leave tomorrow, why not?

On the way to 77th, I decided I had to get more drinks. I bought 2 bottles of Baron's cos well, one miserable bottle of wine wasn't enough for the 3 of us!

Then came Wednesday. Basic Theory Test day! Chin woke me up with her sms. Thank God! Just about enough time to read through for an hour or so! No choice. Paid for it already cannot waste money! Cannot skip! It was probably THE time to pass...but NOOO!!!! We failed! NaBei! Same sad story, different day. Arrggghh!

Next test will be on 5th December and my 8th attempt. Basket.. That better be the last.

Thought we could walk around town after the test but Chin's got a bad headache so the plan had to be scrapped. I went to town alone in search for a new pair of leather shoes for Steve's wedding. Found it @ The Heeren!! $39! But no size 8! Arrgggh!!

Getting hungry. Steve recommended this western food stall at AMK so we had our mixed grill dinner there. No plans yet on his side but I had better get goin cos I promised Michie I'll meet her up to pass her some stuff for her school work. Then shit...i was still at AMK and she had already finished her group meeting and on her way back home. I was about to leave for Michie's place when suddenly Steve recieved a sms from Freddie. "Zouk tonight."

Temptation strides in. I turned soft. I quickly dropped the idea to meet Michie. (Really paiseh!) Zouk was probably the devil telling me to enter his domain. But tonight his domain was filled with angels...

Pure magical mambo jumbo retro nite...only @ Zouk, 3 yrs after my last visit.

Yes Zouk was revamped. It's probably bigger now. And any of you twigs who visited Zouk KL, you'll probably realised the exterior of Zouk Singapore has the exact same look and feel. Whitechunky ballon curves like that. Beside that similarity, we have a oblong lcd screen above the enterance area. Quite cool, New York City Sqaure like that. You have to go there and see for yourself. I'm goin there again tomorrow to attend Juice's 7th Anniversary Party with Kenneth. Haha! Many thanks to him, he has a invitee ticket! Yes! Haha.. But most importantly, the main course is to 'celebrate' Steve bro's STAG NITE a.k.a. Bachelor's Nite.

I'm not a party animal. I'm just living to have fun.

Damn Right!

Radiohead's 'Ok Computer' has been voted the greatest album of all time.

The British rockers were awarded the prestigious title after topping a poll conducted by British TV station Channel Four to find music lovers' favourite records.

Radiohead, fronted by Tom Yorke, beat off stiff competition from a whole host of critically acclaimed artists including U2, The Beatles, Queen and Oasis to claim the top spot.

The full list can be found here.

OEI!!! Which one??

As usual, I cannot make up my mind.

Which one should I buy? Big headache. Or I juz buy both, that'd solve everything. Both are priced at around the $500 range. But upon checks @ Yahoo! Auctions, I found swines selling psp between the $300-$400 range. Brand new some more. But mother always tell me not to buy electrical goods if you can't physically caress it. Especially so if it's not cheap. For Apple, no way you'll ever find discounts on their ipods unless you buy it off as second hands from people who're retarded to sell them off, even though they claim to have 'lost interest'. Eh, then what about Creative Zen Vision? Ermm...PASS...I don't like its 'ultra-stone-aged' look. So it's down to 2. The Sony Playstation Portable or the new iPod. This kind of decisions are hard to make sometimes.

If only they weren't gadgets.

I'll happily take both with open arms.

The Girl with Many Eyes - Tim Burton

One day in the park
I had quite a surprise.

I met a girl

who had many eyes.

She was really quite pretty
(and also quite shocking!)
and I noticed she had a mouth,
so we ended up talking.

We talked about flowers,
and her poetry classes,
and the problems she'd have
if she ever wore glasses.

It's great to know a girl
who has many eyes,
but you really get wet
when she breaks down and cries.

Life And Death In Shanghai by Nien Cheng

"This book conveys with power and impact the horrors faced by one brave Chinese woman during the Cultural Revolution. I believe it will prove an enduring document to one of modern history's greatest aberrations."
- Anthony Grey

"Never have I finished reading a book with tears in my eyes. Even though I have read quite a few of the flurry of autobiographies set in 20th century China. This one is set apart. Written by a remarkable, intelligent women whose spirit and insight into humanity will stay with me forever."
- s222

Nice comments from nice people in regards to this new book I bought recently. I was browsing through many asian novel titles at a 2nd bookshop in Heartland Mall and this seems to be something of a gem. Even the salesgirl recommended me this so what the hack. Soon after I'm done reading the Radiohead book, I shall start reading this...Such anticipation! Heh.

Vaguely...

Today is the bleakest day of my working life. I was totaled. I nearly went berserk. I left office @8pm. I felt like throwing up. Can't get any worst. Like LOVE, too much of it will kill you. Quite instantly, I just wanted to give up.

Phew, for a minute there,
